In the United States, there is Fodor (1936), by Eugene Fodor (1905- ), which is characterized by contributions from experts and annual revisions, and the American Guide Series, which is a travel guide for the United States, completed from 1935 to 1943 as a job relief project for writers after the Great Depression. It is difficult to say that Japanese travel guides meet international standards in terms of the appropriateness of the information they cover, the accuracy of their maps, and the reliability of their reviews. ...
