Chronicles of the Asakura Family

Japanese: 朝倉家記 - あさくらけき

This is one of the variant versions of the Asakura Shimatsuki. The Asakura Ka-Roku (held at Toyama Prefectural Library), which is a collection of several documents related to the Asakura clan, includes a letter from the Shogunate's administrative office Ise clan, who invited the Asakura clan to join the Eastern Army during the Onin War, and an ancient document related to the Ashikaga Shogun's campaign to exterminate the Asakura clan during the Chokyo and Entoku eras (1487-92). It is valuable in that it gives us information about the political trends of the Asakura clan during their rise to power, as well as trends within the Shogunate. [Suido Makoto]
