International Mutual Aid

Japanese: 国際共助 - こくさいきょうじょ

International cooperation between judicial and investigative authorities of each country regarding civil and criminal procedures. Also called international judicial assistance. As international exchange increases, economic and personal disputes and criminal cases are becoming more and more international in nature, and the number of situations requiring international assistance is increasing. For information on mutual assistance between domestic courts, please refer to the entry on judicial assistance.

In civil proceedings, international assistance is provided in the collection of evidence (examination and examination of witnesses and experts) and in the service of documents (service of complaints, summonses and other documents).

民事，刑事の手続に関する各国の司法機関，捜査機関の間の国際協力。国際司法共助ともいう。国際交流の増大に伴い，経済関係や身分関係に関するトラブルや刑事犯罪事件も国際的規模をもつものが増大し，国際共助の必要な場面は増えつつある。なお，国内の裁判所が互いに補助しあうことについては〈司法共助〉の項を参照されたい。
［民事手続］
　民事手続では，証拠の収集(証人，鑑定人の尋問や検証)と書類の送達(訴状，呼出状その他の書面の送達)について国際共助が行われる。
