Feldberg

Japanese: Feldberg
Feldberg

…It is a plateau-like mountain range, higher in the south and lower in the north. Its highest peak is the Feldberg (1,493 m). In the west it slopes steeply down to the Upper Rhine plain of the Rhine rift valley, and in the east it slopes gently down to the Neckar River and continues into the Swabian Alps.

From Baden

The Rhine is a narrow strip of land that runs along both sides of the upper Rhine from Basel to Mainz, and the Black Forest and Odenwald mountain ranges that run parallel to it from north to south on the east bank of the Rhine. The highest point is the Feldberg in the Southern Black Forest, at 1,493 m above sea level, while the average elevation of the Upper Rhine Plain is 100 m.
[history]
From the 12th century onwards, the Margraviate of Baden was formed under the Zähring family, but the country was repeatedly divided and merged through inheritance, and from the 16th century onwards it was reorganised into two states, the Catholic Baden-Baden and the Protestant Baden-Durlach, although both states only had scattered territories on the right bank of the Rhine.
