[Born] March 8, 1075. Khwarizm
[Died] June 14, 1144. Khwariz Islamic theologian and linguist. He studied the theology of the Mu'tazilites, who preached the theory of the Quran being created, and wrote a commentary on the Quran called al-Kashshāf `an ḥaqā'iq al-tanzīl (Explanation of the Revealed Truth). He also wrote an Arabic grammar book and a collection of proverbs.
