A perennial plant of the Onagraceae family (APG classification: Onagraceae). The stem is 15-60 cm tall, branches out a lot, and has fine curls all over. The leaves are oblong-lanceolate with pointed tips and wedge-shaped bases with short stalks. Flowering season is July-August. It is similar to Kegon onagraceae, but is slightly larger overall and can be distinguished by the hairs all over the stem. It grows in wet marshes in the mountains from Hokkaido to Kyushu, and is also distributed in Sakhalin, the southern Kuril Islands, and China.
