eutectic mixture

A mixture of two or more crystals that precipitate simultaneously from a liquid containing two or more components. It is also called a eutectoid or a eutectic mixture. When two components A and B are soluble in each other in the liquid state but immiscible in the solid state, the melting point-composition relationship is expressed as an equilibrium phase diagram as shown in the figure below.
