Mexican sunflower

...There are about 10 species of tall annual plants of the Asteraceae family found in Mexico and Central America. The ornamental Tithonia is one of them, the Mexican sunflower ( T. rotundifolia Blake). This wild species grows to a height of over 2m, but the cultivated variety is the improved Torch, which has an upright stem and grows to a height of about 1m.
