The British archaeological community once called the European Iron Age before the Roman conquest the Early Iron Age, probably because they were very conscious of this point, but the definition of the Iron Age including the present day is almost meaningless. In fact, while many regions use the names Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age to divide regions into different periods, many regions do not use the name Iron Age. ...
