Diocalandra

...They are widely distributed from Amami Oshima and Okinawa to tropical regions, and their larvae are known as pests that burrow into the stems of bananas and other bamboo plants. The bamboo weevil Diocalandra has a body length of 3 to 5 mm. Three species have been recorded in Japan, and all of them bore into the stems of dead bamboo and bamboo grass.
