A special liturgical chant in the Milan region of the Roman Catholic Church. It is still performed in Milan today. It is named after Ambrose, a 4th century archbishop of Milan, but the origin of its melody is complex, showing influences from Eastern chant and old Roman chant. Liturgical chant in the Roman Catholic Church was generally unified into Gregorian chant, but Ambrosian chant continued to be passed down despite the decline of Gallic chant, Mozarabic chant, and other chant.

ローマ・カトリック教会のミラノ地区の特別な典礼聖歌。現在もミラノを中心として行われている。4世紀のミラノの大司教アンブロシウスの名に由来するが，その旋律の起源は，東方聖歌や古ローマ聖歌の影響をうかがわせるなど，複雑である。ローマ・カトリック教会の典礼聖歌は一般にグレゴリオ聖歌に統一されていったが，ガリア聖歌，モサラベ聖歌などが衰退したにもかかわらず，アンブロジオ聖歌は引続き継承された。
