This is a record of the rise and fall of the three generations of Azai, Sukemasa, Hisamasa, and Nagamasa, who ruled the Kohoku region from their base at Odani Castle in Omi Province during the Sengoku period. The author was the monk Yuzan (Yuzan) of Kinomoto Joshin-ji Temple in Ika County. It was presented to the lord of Kaga Domain at the end of the Kanbun period, via the Okumura clan, a senior retainer of the Maeda clan, and was published in one set of 15 volumes. Much of the content is fictional war tales, so it has little historical value. It seems to have been widely read during the Edo period, and is quoted in various genealogical records, so caution is required. Included in the Revised and Enlarged Collections of Historical Documents. [Hosomizo Norihiko] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
