Japanese: 鴨川[市] - かもがわ

A city in southern Chiba Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1971. It faces the Pacific Ocean and has flat land along the Kamo River. The city center is where the Uchibo and Sotobo lines connect, and is one of the commercial centers in the southern part of the prefecture. Kamogawa Fishing Port is the base for coastal fishing, and mackerel and sardines are often landed. The rural areas produce rice, wheat, and flowers, and dairy farming is also thriving. It is the base for tourism in Minami Boso Quasi-National Park, and has many hotels and inns. It is home to Kamogawa Sea World, which has a large aquarium, Tainoura, Niemon Island, and the Flower Center. It is also home to Kiyosumiyama Seicho Temple and Tanjo Temple. In February 2005, Amatsu Kominato Town in Awa County was incorporated. 191.14 ^km2 . Population: 35,766 (2010).

千葉県南部の市。1971年市制。太平洋に面し，加茂川沿いに平地が開ける。中心市街は内・外房線の接続地で，県南商業の一中心。鴨川漁港は近海漁業の根拠地で，サバ，イワシの水揚げが多い。農村部は米麦，花卉を産し，酪農も盛ん。南房総国定公園観光の基地でホテルや旅館が多く，大水族館をもつ鴨川シーワールド，鯛ノ浦，仁右衛門島，フラワーセンターがある。また清澄(きよすみ)山清澄(せいちょう)寺，誕生寺がある。2005年２月安房郡天津小湊町を編入。191.14km²。３万5766人（2010）。
