…Medieval logic was established in the 13th century by Peter Hispanus in his “Instituts Logico”, but was not fully developed until the 14th century by William of Ockham in his “Elements of Logico”. This work absorbed the ancient Aristotelian syllogism, but included a type of logic that did not exist in ancient Greece, namely, the logic of inference (consequentia).
