A field of arts education that aims to contribute to the development of students' character through the activities of creating and appreciating drama. It is also a part of the educational movement that aims to revitalize educational activities by utilizing the essence and functions of drama in various aspects of educational activities. "Dramatic education" can also refer to education for training actors and other theatrical personnel, but for this please refer to the "Actor Education" entry. The idea of using drama in educational activities has been seen in Europe since ancient Greece, and even in medieval Christian temples, the method of dramatizing doctrines and worship services was used.
