A method of refining molten steel produced in converters or electric furnaces outside of these furnaces as necessary. Among the extra-furnace refining methods, those that use ladles are sometimes called ladle refining methods. Molten steel that has been melted and refined in the air using converters or electric furnaces is easily contaminated by gas components such as hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen, which can lead to product defects. In addition, technology for using steel on the consumer side is advancing, and quality requirements are becoming increasingly diverse and strict.
