…In 1913, while he was in Nuremberg, he heard a lecture by R. Steiner and was impressed by the grandiose anthroposophical ideas that the interpretations of the four Gospels should be integrated under the lost "Fifth Gospel." In 1916, he joined the anthroposophical movement. In 1922, he founded the religious organization "Christengemeinschaft" (Christian Community), which aimed to combine Christianity and anthroposophy, and developed a new Christian reform movement as its supreme leader. This movement was suppressed by the Nazis at one point, but after his death it was taken over by Emil Bock (1895-1959) and others, and it still exists today. …
