An anti-Marxist literary school that arose in response to the popularity of proletarian literature. In 1929, Nakamura Takeo, editor-in-chief of Shincho, and others formed the Thirteen People Club, including Kawabata Yasunari, Kamura Isota, Ozaki Shiro, and Ryutoji Yu. The following year, the Shinko Geijutsuha Club was formed with the participation of Funahashi Seiichi, Ibuse Masuji, and other modernist and art-oriented writers. The writers who gathered there produced novels in various directions that depicted cross-sections of urban customs during the so-called erotic, grotesque, and nonsensical era, and made them into reading material, but they soon split into several directions and disappeared. A representative work is Ryutoji's Wandering Times. → Related articles Abe Tomoji | Shincho | Yoshiyuki Junnosuke Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
