Chemical oxygen demand

…COD (short for chemical oxygen demand) is the amount of oxidizing agent consumed that reacts with organic matter in water, converted into oxygen equivalents and expressed in mg/l or ppm (1mg/l ≒ 1ppm), and is primarily used as an indicator of water pollution caused by organic matter.
