Americaine (France)

In French cuisine, this term is used for American-style dishes. A typical example is "Sauce Americaine (American sauce)," which is also used for lobster dishes such as "homard à l'américaine (lobster stewed in white wine and tomatoes)" and fish dishes that use sauce Americaine. ◇It means "American." フランス料理で、アメリカ風の料理に用いる言葉。代表的なものとして「ソース・アメリケーヌ（アメリカンソース）」があり、「オマール・ア・ラメリケーヌ（homard à l'américaine、オマールえびを白ワインとトマトで煮込んだ料理）」などのオマールえびを使った料理やソース・アメリケーヌを用いた魚料理などにもこの言葉を用いる。◇「アメリカの」という意。
