Electronograph

Japanese: エレクトロノグラフ
Electronograph
A device for detecting two-dimensional images such as the direct image and spectrum of faintly lit celestial objects. The image of the celestial object is focused on a photoelectric surface and converted into photoelectrons to obtain an electronic image. In the early days, the electronic image was detected using a photographic plate, but nowadays solid-state imaging devices are mainly used.
