Biskupin

Japanese: Biskupin
Biskupin

...The number of Bronze Age ruins is even greater, and they are collectively called the Unetice (1800-1400 BC) culture, named after the places where they were first discovered, the Trzciniec culture (1500-100 BC), and the Lausatian culture (1300-400 BC). The famous Biskupin ruins belong to the Lausatian culture, and the remains of dwellings discovered at the bottom of a lake provide a good idea of what life was like at the time. The Lausatian culture, which developed to cover almost all of present-day Poland, suddenly disappeared around 400 BC, and it is believed that this was due to the Scythians, who had iron tools.

From [Polish Art]

...In Poland, there is a settlement of pile dwellings in Biskupin thought to date back to around 500 B.C., where wooden paths and dwellings remain, and simple wooden carved statues of gods have been found in Wolin and other places from the Christian era, but full-scale architectural and artistic activity began after the adoption of Christianity. As early as the 9th century, rotunda-style churches (such as St. Mary's Church in the Wawel Castle in Krakow) were built in the southern part of the country, mainly in Krakow, indicating the spread of Christianity from Moravia.
