...The western coast is bordered by Eritrea and Djibouti. Perim Island (also called Barim Island), located about 3.5 km off the eastern coast of Yemen's Cape Sheikh Said, is part of Yemen. Until the port of Aden was developed in 1920, it was a bustling port for loading fuel for ships, but now it is an important military base where the Yemeni army is stationed. The surrounding sea area is a treasure trove of shrimp, squid, and other fish.
