King of the United Kingdom (reigned 1901-1910). Son of Queen Victoria. Active internationally since his days as Crown Prince. Ascended to the throne at age 60. Changed the name of the dynasty, House of Hanover, to House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Opposed the imperialism of German Emperor Wilhelm II.
