Asinus aureus (English spelling)

…A novel written by the Roman author Apuleius in the late 2nd century. It is commonly known as Asinus aureus, but the original title means Metamorphoses. It consists of 11 volumes, and tells the story of the protagonist Lucius, who is transformed into a donkey by a witch, wandering through the hands of various people, during which he observes the dark side of the human world without being noticed, until he is finally able to return to being human through the esoteric faith of the goddess Isis.
