Horse chestnut (Aesculus turbinata Bl.)
A deciduous tall tree of the Aesculaceae family with large palmate compound leaves consisting of seven leaflets and large white panicles, it is planted as a garden tree or roadside tree (illustration). It can reach a height of 35 m and a diameter of 4 m, and the bark of the trunk is blackish purple-brown, and when the outer layer peels off, a wavy pattern appears. The branches are thick and spread out, forming a wide crown, and the winter buds at the ends of the twigs are covered with sticky resin. The leaves are arranged opposite each other on long petioles, and the leaflets are 5 to 7 in number, stalkless, oblanceolate, with blunt sawtooth edges, and the central one is the largest, reaching a length of 25 to 40 cm.
