A high peak in the Bernese Alps in southern Switzerland. It is 4,158 meters above sea level. About 18 km southeast of Interlaken, the Jungfrau Railway reaches Jungfraujoch (3,475 m), where an alpine research institute and a meteorological observatory are located. The mountainside is covered with glaciers, with the Aletsch Glacier flowing to the southwest and the Mönch and Eiger mountains adjacent to each other to the north.
