A port city on the Java Sea in Javatenga Province, Central Java, Indonesia. With a wide coastal plain in front of it, it is the commercial center of Central Java and one of the main ports, shipping sugar, rubber, tea, kapok, quinine, etc. Light industries such as sugar refining, textiles, and agricultural product processing have also developed, and Java Sarasa dyeing is popular.
