Āshık Paşa (English spelling) Ashik Pasa

[Ottoman Literature]
The dialect of the western Turkmen people who migrated to Anatolia reached classical perfection as the literary language of the Ottoman Empire. In the early period (14th-15th centuries), the pioneers of Turkish literature in Anatolia were mystic poets such as Yunus Emre, Sultan Bered (?-1312), and Āshık Paşa (?-1332), who wrote poetry using simple Anatolian dialects and traditional Turkish rhymes. With the rise of the Ottoman Empire, the activities of court poets began, and Ahmedi's (1334-1413) İskendername is a long epic poem that includes the oldest history of the Ottoman dynasty, and it spread as far as Central Asia.
