An active volcano in the northeast of Bali, Indonesia. The name of the mountain means "mountain where the fire god resides." It is 3,142 meters above sea level. It is the highest peak on the island of Bali and is known as "the peak of Bali." It is an object of Hindu worship in Bali, and the Besakih Temple is located on its slopes.
