Urushiol

A component of raw lacquer extracted from the bark of the lacquer tree Rhus vernicifera , a member of the Anacardiaceae family. It is a mixture of several substances with a pentadecylcatechol skeleton. It is a yellow liquid that can cause lacquer dermatitis on contact with the skin. Boiling point: 210-220 °C (5.3 × 10 Pa). [CAS 53237-59-5]. The following four types have been isolated and confirmed: (1) 3-pentadecyl form: needle-like crystals. Melting point: 59-60 °C. (2) 8',9'-didehydro ( Z ) form: pale yellow oil. 1.5115. (3) 8',9',11',12'-tetradehydro ( Z,Z ) form: main component, also known as toxicodendrin. (4) 8',9',11',12',14',15' ( Z,Z,Z ) hexadehydro form: oily. 1.5250.

ウルシ科ウルシRhus verniciferaの樹皮から渗出する生漆の成分で，ペンタデシルカテコール骨格をもつ数種類の物質の混合物．皮膚に触れると漆性皮膚炎を起こす黄色の液体．沸点210～220 ℃(5.3×10 Pa)．[CAS 53237-59-5]．以下の4種類が単離確認されている．(1)3-ペンタデシル体：針状晶．融点59～60 ℃．(2)8′,9′-ジデヒドロ(Z)体：淡黄色油．1.5115．(3)8′,9′,11′,12′-テトラデヒドロ(Z,Z)体：主成分でトキシコデンドリンともいう．(4)8′,9′,11′,12′,14′,15′(Z,Z,Z)ヘキサデヒドロ体：油状．1.5250．
