[Nature and Climate]
A republic occupying the northeastern tip of the African continent. It borders the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Libya to the west, Sudan to the south, and the Red Sea to the east. In 1982, under the peace treaty with Israel, the Sinai Peninsula, which had been occupied since the 1967 Six-Day War, was returned to Israel.
