Andragoras

…Arsaces I (r. 247-217 or 214 BC) led the Parnoi, a tribe of Scythian nomads called Daai, in occupying Astauene, and ascended to the throne in Asaak in 247 BC. Soon after, the Parthian governor Andragoras defected from the Seleucid Empire, and Diodotos of Bactria became independent. Arsaces took this opportunity to conquer Parthia around 238 BC, and also annexed the region of Hyrcania on the southeastern coast of the Caspian Sea. …
