A resort town on Key West Island, at the southwestern tip of the Florida Keys, in southern Florida, USA. Population 25,000 (1990). Located about 240 km from Miami, Florida, there is an oversea road that runs through the island. This oversea road was a railroad track until 1935. It is a winter resort and also a fishing port with a large shrimp catch. There are a U.S. Navy Air Corps, a naval base, and a Coast Guard base.
