Hacchogane - Hacchogane

Japanese: 八丁鉦 - はっちょうがね
Hacchogane - Hacchogane
A type of street performance. Young men wear eight gongs around their necks and waists and dance while beating them, and it is said to have originated from singing nembutsu. In the "Jinrin Kunmou Zui," it is written that "it is a kind of singing nembutsu," and a picture of this is included. [Oda Koji]
