[Died] May 6, 1889. Belgian poet. His real name was Maurice Warlomont. He wrote in French. He gathered together the leading writers of the Belgian Literary Renaissance and founded the magazine La Jeune Belgique (Young Belgium) (1881). After his death, his light-hearted collection of poems La Flûte à Siebel (1891) and his novel Daisy (1892) were published.

The first king of the Pegu dynasty of Burma (reigned 1281-96). He served the Sukhothai dynasty of Thailand, but fled with a princess of that king, Ramakhamhaeng, and in 1281, he killed Sulayman, the ruler of Martaban, of the Pagan dynasty, and established his own empire. In 1287, he also killed Tarabya, the ruler of Pegu, who had previously established his own empire, and took control of the region from Lower Burma to Tenasserim. He compiled the oldest written legal code still in existence in Burma, the Waler Dhammatha (Warer's Code), and built the foundation for the later Burmese legal code.

ビルマ，ペグー朝第1代の王 (在位 1281～96) 。タイのスコータイ朝に仕えたが，その王ラーマカムヘーンの一王女とともに出奔し，1281年パガン朝のマルタバン領主スレイマンを殺して自立した。 87年には先に自立していたペグー領主タラビャーをも殺して下ビルマからテナセリムにいたる地域を支配した。ビルマに現存する最古の成文法典『ワレル・ダンマタ (ワレルの法典) 』を編纂し，後世ビルマ法典の基礎を築いた。
