Deogiri

Japanese: Deogiri
Deogiri

...It is now a small village, but with a steep, isolated rock hill 180m above sea level, it occupies a strategic location that controls the junction of the transportation routes on the Deccan Plateau. At the end of the 12th century, it became the capital of the Yadava Dynasty, which ruled over the western Deccan Plateau, and was called Devagiri or Deogiri. In 1327, King Muhammad bin Tughluq of the Tughluq Dynasty moved the capital here from Delhi with the intention of conquering the Deccan Plateau, and renamed it to its current name, which means "City of Wealth."
