A general term for four species of animals in the genus Kangaroo, family Macropodidae, order Marsupialia, class Mammalia, known in English as wallaroos. They are a type of kangaroo that live in Australia and the surrounding coastal mountains and inland rocky areas. Their head and body length is 0.8 to 1.4 meters. They have sturdy bodies with short hind legs, and are adapted to living in rocky areas. Their pouches are well developed.
