Wallaroo - Wararu (English spelling) wallaroo

A general term for four species of animals in the genus Kangaroo, family Macropodidae, order Marsupialia, class Mammalia, known in English as wallaroos. They are a type of kangaroo that live in Australia and the surrounding coastal mountains and inland rocky areas. Their head and body length is 0.8 to 1.4 meters. They have sturdy bodies with short hind legs, and are adapted to living in rocky areas. Their pouches are well developed.

哺乳(ほにゅう)綱有袋目カンガルー科カンガルー属の動物のうち、英名でワラルーとよばれる4種の総称。オーストラリアと周辺の沿岸の山地や内陸の岩石地に生息するカンガルーの仲間である。頭胴長0.8～1.4メートル。体は頑丈で、後足は短く、岩場に生息するのに適応している。育児嚢(いくじのう)はよく発達する。
