…A large-scale anti-Soviet peasant revolt that took place in the summer of 1920 to the summer of 1921 in Tambov province in the central agricultural region of southwestern Russia, one of the peasant revolts in the latter half of the civil war. Aleksandr S. Antonov (1888-1922) had been a member of the Socialist Revolutionaries since 1906 and was the leader of the revolt.
