Gamma-endorphin - Gamma endorphin

...A type of neuropeptide found in large quantities in the posterior pituitary gland. There are four types: α-, β-, γ-, and δ-. The amino acid sequences of these endorphins correspond to the 61st to 76th amino acids (α-endorphin), 61st to 91st amino acids (β-endorphin), 61st to 77th amino acids (γ-endorphin), and 61st to 87th amino acids (δ-endorphin) of the amino acid sequence of lipotropin secreted from the anterior pituitary gland. Of these four types of endorphins, the physiologically most important is β-endorphin, which acts on morphine receptors and has a morphine-like analgesic effect.
