The Straw Millionaire
A folktale. A man prayed to Kannon and was given a straw stalk. He caught dragonflies and wasps and tied them to the straw stalk. As he traveled, he traded them for valuable items one by one, and finally became a rich man. This is a story of the miraculous power of Kannon that can also be found in the Konjaku Monogatarishu and Uji Shui Monogatari.

昔話。観音に願掛して１本の藁しべを授かった男が，アブ（トンボ，ハチ）を捕らえて藁しべにしばり，旅をするうちにこれを順次高価な物と交換，ついに長者になる昔話。《今昔物語集》《宇治拾遺物語》にもみえる観音霊験物語。
