The Straw Millionaire
A folktale. A man prayed to Kannon and was given a straw stalk. He caught dragonflies and wasps and tied them to the straw stalk. As he traveled, he traded them for valuable items one by one, and finally became a rich man. This is a story of the miraculous power of Kannon that can also be found in the Konjaku Monogatarishu and Uji Shui Monogatari.
