Hatage [Hot Spring] - Hatage

Japanese: 畑毛[温泉] - はたげ

This hot spring is located at the western foot of Mt. Tannana in Kannami Town, Tagata District, Shizuoka Prefecture. The spring quality is simple and the temperature is 40°C. During the Edo period, it was called "Yutsuka no Yu" and was a hot spring resort for farmers living in the Kano River basin, but since the opening of the Tannana Tunnel in 1934 and improved transportation, people from far away have also come here for long-term treatment. Buses are available from Kannami Station on the Tokaido Main Line and Mishima Station on the Shinkansen Line. Nearby are Mt. Daisen, a viewing point for Mt. Fuji, and the Kashiya cave group (history). [Sakakibara Takashi]

静岡県田方郡函南（かんなみ）町，丹那山の西麓にある温泉。泉質は単純泉，泉温は40℃。江戸時代は〈湯塚の湯〉とよばれ，狩野（かの）川流域の農民の湯治場であったが，1934年に丹那トンネルが開通して交通が便利になってからは，遠方から長期療養の客も来るようになった。東海道本線函南駅，同新幹線三島駅からバスが通じる。付近には富士山の展望地大仙山や柏谷（かしや）横穴群(史)がある。【榊原貴士】
