The Warner Brothers, four Polish Jewish immigrants, Harry Warner (1881-1958), Albert W. (1884-1967), Samuel W. (1888-1927), and Jack L. Warner (1892-1978), founded Warner Feature Films in New York in 1917 and became independent film producers. In 1918, they opened a studio in Burbank, a suburb of Hollywood.
