Japanese: 脇指 - わきざし
Wakizashi - Armpit
Also written as wakizashi. A katana (Japanese sword) with a length of more than one shaku and less than two shaku. It became popular to attach the wakizashi to the sword and wear it on the waist from the Muromachi period onwards, and in the Edo period it was called daisho.
