A non-ferrous metals exchange in London. Seven items were traded: copper, lead, zinc, tin, silver, aluminum, and nickel, but secondary aluminum alloys were added in October 1992. It was established in 1877, and futures trading began in 1882. Two sessions are held in the morning and two in the afternoon, with about 30 ring members. The closing price of the morning session is announced as the settlement price, and becomes the standard price for trading around the world.
