The chemical formula is KNaC ₄ H ₄ O ₆・4H ₂ O. Tetrahydrate of potassium sodium tartrate. Also known as Senyet's salt. Colorless crystals. Specific gravity 1.773, dissolves in water of crystallization at 70-80℃. Soluble in water. Decomposes at 200℃. Has a refreshing taste. Single crystals have an unusually strong piezoelectric effect and a large dielectric constant, so they are used as oscillators and piezoelectric elements in pickups, microphones, and receivers. It is also the main component of Fehling's solution and is used in the pharmaceutical and food industries. Industrially, it is made from potassium hydrogen tartrate and an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate.

化学式はKNaC₄H₄O₆・4H₂O。酒石酸ナトリウムカリウムの４水和物。セニエット塩とも。無色の結晶。比重1.773，70〜80℃で結晶水に溶ける。水に可溶。200℃で分解。味わうと清涼感がある。単結晶は異常に強い圧電気効果と，大きい誘電率をもつため，発振器，圧電素子としてピックアップ，マイクロホン，受話器などに用いられる。またフェーリング液の主成分であり，医薬品，食品工業などにも用いられる。工業的には酒石酸水素カリウムと炭酸ナトリウム水溶液からつくる。
