Japanese: 王滝[村] - おうたき

A village in Kiso County, located at the western edge of Nagano Prefecture. The western half of the village borders Gifu Prefecture, and the Otaki River, a tributary of the Kiso River, flows eastward. Most of the village is covered by forests, and forestry is a thriving industry. The village is famous for producing high-quality cypress lumber. Power generation development is also active along the Otaki River, with Miura Dam in the west and Makio Dam in the east. Mount Ontake, located in the north, has been an object of worship since ancient times, and Tanohara, which has a road leading to it, is the most commonly used trailhead. In addition, the village shrine of Ontake Shrine is located on Kamishima at the foot of the mountain, making it a center of worship. In September 2014, during the autumn tourist season when many people visit the mountain, Mount Ontake erupted, resulting in the worst eruption disaster since the war, with many dead and missing. 310.82 ^km2 . 965 people (2010).

長野県西端に位置する，木曽郡の村。西半分は岐阜県に接し，木曽川支流の王滝川が東流する。村の大半が山林で林業が盛んに行われ，質の高いヒノキ材を産することで有名。王滝川に沿って電源開発も盛んで，西部には三浦(みうれ)ダム，東部には牧尾ダムがある。北部に鎮座する御嶽山は古くから信仰の対象で，車道の通じる田の原はその登山口として最もよく利用される。また麓の上島には御嶽神社の里宮もあり，信仰の中心地でもある。2014年９月，秋の行楽シーズンで多くの入山者が訪れる中で御嶽山が噴火，死者・行方不明者を多く出す戦後最悪の噴火災害となった。310.82km²。965人（2010）。
