Sextans (Sextans)

Its abbreviation is Sex. It is a spring constellation located south of Leo. It was founded by the German J. Hevelius. It was placed here in memory of Hevelius's favorite sextant, which was destroyed in the great fire of Danzig (now Gdansk) in September 1679. It has no bright stars. Its approximate position is 10h10m in right ascension and -1° in declination. It reaches its highest point in the sky at 8pm in late April.
