〘名〙① 礼をするために用いる金銭。礼物。※大乗院寺社雑事記‐寛正六年(1465)一一月二二日「自二百姓方一千五百疋礼銭出レ之」 〔後漢書‐羊続伝〕② 室町時代、特定の祝儀の時に、幕府へ奉った金銭。また、幕府の役人に贈った賄賂。※狂歌・金言和歌集(1492‐1501頃)「礼銭(レイセン)におもひつくみのあぢきなさ身をうしなはんこともしらずて」
