Asexual reproduction is roughly the same as asexual reproduction, and refers to organisms that reproduce sexually by other, irregular means. Examples of natural vegetative reproduction include the growth of bulbils (Japanese yam, tiger lily) and shoots from the tips of branches (spider plant, strawberry). Artificial vegetative reproduction methods include grafting and leaf cuttings. In animals, for example, hydra reproduces by budding, which is the same as vegetative reproduction in plants, but in animals it is customarily referred to as asexual reproduction, and the term vegetative reproduction is not often used.
